Welcome

...to my new site!  It's been rebuilt from the ground up.  I've added new features and gotten rid of old/outdated information (things like "Update: Spring 2006!") in order to be more focused, streamlined and up-to-date.  

In addition, I've built a new site for my recording studio: Tom Hipskind Custom Drum Tracks.

May 17, 2012: Just finished a great rhythm section tracking session with M13 yesterday.  Gonna be a while, but I'm excited to hear what this album sounds like!

Kick The Cat, the wonderful jazz/fusion band I play in, is going to be reborn this year, thanks in part to a killer set we had at the Tonic Room earlier this year!  We're doing a steady monthly (or bi-monthly, depending on schedules) residency there, starting on the 24th of April.  NOTE! We will NOT be playing in May, but will return in June.  Please come on out!

Another wonderful group I play in, Blast!, has some upcoming dates this spring, and I'm looking forward to playing with them: Kraig McCreary, Bob Lizik, and Paul Mutzabaugh.

I've added a Blog to this site as well.  Just for thoughts, insights and what not on drumming, music, teaching and life.  Feel free to check it out, and add comments/discussion if you like!
